Train with two wagons - Tåg med 2 vagnar - BRIO - 1940s

Lacquered beech wood BRIO pull toy train featuring engine, boxcar/van and flat car/lumber wagon. The engine would originally have had pistons that move as the train is pulled along.

This is one of the earliest of BRIO's pull toy trains. Likely dating to the 1940s but possibly as early as the late 1930s. Re-imagined versions of this train were available in recognizable form into the 1960s, and the toy's heritage is still seen in the company's present-day catalog.
